They are equipped with a tested self-activating sealing system which allows them to be used safely and without leaks up to 800 bar working pressure. They can be easily used in small and medium size extrusion and co-extrusion lines. The lever can be operated from three different positions and ensures a quick movement of the sliding plate. It revolutionizes the usual approach of this type of machine. As everybody knows normal static filters take up room, are particularly demanding from the maintenance point of view, need a long time for filter replacement which in turn causes expensive machine down time. In all respects the BDCG is a screen changer, as it is equipped with two filtering cartridges placed on a sliding plate. Screen changing times are very quick which minimises the machine down time to an acceptable level It is available in sizes from Ø 60 to Ø 75 mm and can be easily fitted to extruders from Ø 45 to Ø 80 mm. After testing this product on plants producing flat sheet and pipes using “spaghetti” heads with underwater cutting systems and on hot melt plants, it was recently proposed also for blow film extrusion lines where performances were excellent : the flow continuity remains perfect also on single layer lines with a extruded thickness of up to 5 microns. These results have been possible thanks to a deep study of internal flow channels and filtering chamber. A remarkable reduction in maintenance costs have been possible thanks to the introduction of these new manufacturing modifications. These systems are used also in pelletizing lines equipped with underwater cutting systems where the presence of the diverter valve becomes necessary for the regular pelletizing lines operating. BDVD maintenance is easy and they can be simply integrated on several typical plants or work as part of a screen changer group. They are produced with melt channels from Ø 30 to Ø 100 mm and with a few simple modifications can used with the same hydraulic operating unit as the screen changers. The sliding plate is equipped with a mechanical sealing system preventing any polymer leakage during the working process.
A needle valve located after the screen regulates the material flow to the head with a opening regulation range from 20 to 100%.
They are available with filtering mass from Ø 60 to Ø 160 mm.
