A forest that grows together with our commitment
The International Day of Forests, celebrated every year on March 21, is an invitation to recognize the irreplaceable value of trees and forest ecosystems in safeguarding life on the planet. Forests are not only “green lungs”: they are habitats, resources, protection, and the future.
Sustainability is an integral part of BD Plast’s industrial identity. Not an addition, but a strategic choice rooted in production processes, in the design of our products, and in the collaborations we activate throughout the entire supply chain.
It is with this spirit that our partnership with Treedom was born, an international platform that promotes forest regeneration through agroforestry projects with high environmental and social impact. Thanks to this collaboration, we created the BD Plast corporate forest: a concrete, transparent, and traceable initiative that helps offset part of our remaining emissions and generate value for the territories involved.
As of today, we have planted over 400 trees in Tanzania, actively involving local farmers in a path of training, care, and shared responsibility. Each tree is photographed, geolocated, and monitored over time, as proof of a commitment that does not end with the symbolic act of planting, but that grows and strengthens over time.
The positive impacts are many:
- improvement of soil quality
- protection of local biodiversity
- generation of fair and sustainable income
- absorption of atmospheric CO₂
Together with Treedom, BD Plast directly contributes to achieving numerous Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, including life on land, climate action, decent work, responsible consumption, and partnerships for sustainable development.
We are convinced that sustainability, to be authentic, must leave visible traces. Our forest is a concrete example of this: a living testimony to the link between industrial innovation and respect for the environment.
