BD Plast accelerates innovation: SAP HANA and industrial automation for a more efficient digital ecosystem
The manufacturing industry is undergoing a period of profound transformation, where digitalization and automation are key strategic levers to improve efficiency and competitiveness. BD Plast Filtering Systems has chosen to address this challenge through a project aimed at optimizing its business processes, developed in collaboration with Florence One, a partner specialized in digitalization for manufacturing companies.
Thanks to this initiative, BD Plast has adopted SAP Business One HANA and integrated advanced technologies for production management, document automation, and financial control, marking a decisive step toward an increasingly interconnected Industry 4.0.
An ambitious project: from SQL to SAP HANA for a faster and more efficient system
BD Plast has been using SAP since 2005, but the increasing complexity of the market and the need for more responsive processes have made the transition to SAP HANA a strategic choice. The goal? To improve integration between company systems, increase data access speed, and ensure decisions are based on reliable and up-to-date information.
With the support of Florence One, the project took shape through a series of targeted actions:
- Process redesign and data optimization
- Production automation and advanced document management
- Financial automation with DocFinance
- Seamless go-live management
- Internally managed IT infrastructure
Internally managed IT infrastructure
The system go-live took place on January 7, 2025, and BD Plast is already working on further developments:
– Greater integration with the company ECM, to further optimize document management.
– Advanced automation with SAP, to minimize manual operations.
– Introduction of a 5.0 machine, an innovative system for managing the small parts and tooling warehouse, which will make the supply chain even more efficient.
The value of a strategic partnership
A project of this scale would not have been possible without the collaboration between BD Plast and Florence One. The expertise of the Florence One team made it possible to integrate the new solutions with precision, ensuring a smooth transition to SAP HANA and optimizing every stage of the implementation.
“From the very beginning, a strong understanding developed between the two working teams: the synergy within the group was the key to the successful progress of the project.” commented Andrea Pallotta, PM at Florence One.
“The SAP HANA redesign represented a strategic lever to innovate business processes and system interconnections, supporting organizational change during the generational transition.” confirms Clarissa Frazzoli, CIO of BD Plast Filtering Systems, “The partnership with Florence One ensured the peace of mind and strong collaboration needed to successfully manage the analysis and implementation phases.”
Thanks to this project, BD Plast confirms itself as a company ready to evolve with the market, making the most of the opportunities offered by digitalization and automation.
