Growing market for the machinery sector, despite geopolitical uncertainties
The Italian machinery industry for plastics and rubber processing continues to show signs of vitality in a context that rewards technical expertise, strategic vision, and adaptability. Demand is increasing on the domestic market and stable on the international market, despite geopolitical uncertainties.
According to the latest business survey published by Amaplast – the Italian national association of manufacturers of machinery and moulds for plastics and rubber – turnover in Italy recorded a +24% growth for machinery and +14% for spare parts compared to the same period of the previous year. Order intake also shows an expansion of +19% in both segments, confirming the dynamism of the domestic market.
Abroad, performance remains positive: turnover shows a +19% increase for machinery and +13% for spare parts. However, a slight decline is observed in orders for spare parts (-4%), likely linked to ongoing tensions in some areas of the Middle East.
For BD Plast, these results represent a concrete confirmation of the value of the Italian industry and the validity of our approach. The trends observed at sector level are also reflected in our direct experience, in terms of project development, demand, and market operations.
While awaiting the next scenario updates expected in the coming weeks, we continue our commitment to innovation, digitalization, and sustainability, strengthening dialogue with customers and partners and reinforcing our competitive positioning.
