Towards a zero-emission future: BD Plast’s commitment to a more sustainable industry
The Zero Emissions Day, celebrated every year on September 21, is not just a symbolic date. It is an opportunity to reflect – in a measurable and shared way – on the environmental impact of production activities and on the crucial role that industry can (and must) play in the ecological transition.
At BD Plast, sustainability is not an abstract concept nor a simple trend word: it is a precise strategic direction, integrated into processes, decisions, and corporate culture.
Every day we work to reduce emissions, promote energy efficiency, and develop solutions increasingly oriented toward the circular economy: this is confirmed by concrete actions, such as our partnership with Treedom, an international platform that funds agroforestry projects with a positive impact on the environment, economy, and society.
Thanks to this collaboration, the BD Plast corporate forest was created, an initiative that allows us to offset part of our residual emissions and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Not only do the trees we have planted in Tanzania absorb CO₂, but they also improve soil quality, promote biodiversity, and generate income and training opportunities for local communities. In particular, Treedom operates in line with several United Nations sustainability goals, such as combating climate change, protecting life on land, and fostering virtuous partnerships for sustainable development.
What we are building, day after day, is an industrial model capable of creating value for the entire plastics processing supply chain, with special attention to the needs of the planet and future generations.
September 21 reminds us that change does not start with words, but with actions. And at BD Plast, we have long chosen which side we are on.
